INSTRUMENTATION

alto flute, bass clarinet, piano, violin, cello

Tarr was commissioned for the 2014 International Workshop for Young Composers. It was premiered by the Italian Divertimento Ensemble. 

Tarr received its US premiere by Mise-en Ensemble, at the 2015 Mise-en Music Festival in NYC.

Tarr began as a chamber arrangement of my orchestral work A Thousand Tongues, and gradually found its own musical path. The title is a reference to Hungarian film director Béla Tarr.
